I have an essay in the new issue of The American Scholar about Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell.
This is probably one of the most personal essays I’ve written, as it detail my love of GWTW when I was a child and my shock when I reread it on a road trip through the South in 2015 to discover that not only is it racist, it’s pro-KKK propaganda.
